Most Important Part of Your Game
Every day we welcome our students and are excited to see them coming out to practice. We all know that time is precious and many of us do not have the time needed
to devote to every aspect of our game. Choices must be made on what to practice and time after time we see our students going to the range,
beating balls and then leaving, ignoring the most important part of your game.
Luke Donald is the number 1 golfer in the world. He lead the 2011 PGA scoring average with a 68.86 and was number 1 on the PGA Tour Money List.
Yet as we look over more of his stats, Luke was not in the top 5 for Driving Distance, Driving Accuracy, Scrambling nor Proximity to Hole.
Luke ranked 41st in Greens in Regulation. How could he have achieved so much this year?
Luke lead Strokes Gained - Putting, lead in Putting Average, was top 4 in Putts per Round and top 3 in Birdie or Better Conversion. Luke's year was made by his putting.
The stats speak volumes and their message is clear: Putting is the most important part of your game.
You must spend time on your putting and you must insure you are doing it correctly, but it does not have to be at the course.
With the iPing App you can work on your putting at the
practice facilities,
while taking a lesson in the
Ping nFlight Fitting and Teaching Studios
or even in your own home.
The iPing app is a measuring device designed to aid you in making a more consistent putting stroke. It does not define what an optimal putting stroke is, as it is
different per player. What it does do is measure your stroke type, impact angle and tempo. After a series of 5 putts it will provide you with a putting handicap
and signify the areas that may need some attention.
If you have an iPhone 4 or an iPod Touch (4 gen) go and get the Free App in the Market place and stop by the
Ping nFlight fitting and Teaching Studios to buy your Cradle. Otherwise contact us to schedule a lesson and let us help you on your way to lower scores.
Remember to take the time, on or off the course, to work on your putting as it is the most important part of your game.
